Al Coith Park
901 Delaney Avenue, Orlando, FL 32806
Total Distance
Long teepads: 2,295ft
Short teepads: 2,065ft
Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate
In recent years the City of Orlando has seen tremendous growth of disc golfers of all skill level using existing Airport Lakes Park and Bill Frederick Park courses. To offer an additional and convenient course Be The Disc is proposing a new course to the City of Orlando just south of downtown at Al Coith Park.
As part of a drainage improvements project Al Coith has just undergone redevelopment that offers an educational nutrient separating baffle box displaying the filtration system to improve the stormwater entering the park. New aquatic vegetation and Cyprus tress have been planted to also assist with stormwater treatment.
Be The Disc believes the new improvements can accommodate 9 baskets and 2 tee pads for an 18 hole configuration that will compliment the sustainable nature of the park and vision to be an environmental learning center.
Many people assume disc golf courses need a lot of space and that's true for a competition level pro course, but a smaller foot print disc golf course can be built on 4-6 acres that offers a challenging technical layout enjoyable by players of all skill levels!
Course will include
the following phases:
1Design & Prep
- Course Design including on site measuring and testing
- Clearing brush and dead wood, with minimal tree trimming necessary for installation and ongoing maintenance
- 3-6 plantings to increase challenge and safety.
- Design and printing of course and hole signage
- Design and partnership with City of Orlando to promote new course.
2Installation & Opening Event
- Installation of Disc Golf Targets for 9 holes/baskets
- Installation of 18 tee pads, with tee signs, directional and safety signs, course map, and rules sign.
- Grand opening event inviting neighborhood and local disc golf community!
3Years of enjoyment!
- Simple maintenance and upkeep in line with current site maintenance
